What is the McClay?

What exactly is the McClay? I am doing a "mini-McClay" in my riding camp tomorrow. No one is referring to it as anything other than the McClay and I haven't haven't had any luck googling it. Thanks!

It's one of the United States' premier hunter shows, and is a prestigious competition that tests riders' abilities over difficult courses...mostly an equitation show.

The Maclay Horsemanship finals is basically a big equitation event. They test the top junior riders in the country over a jumper course and on the flat. If you want more info type ASPCA Maclay Championship

the macclay is for juvenile riders and it's the highest honor a juvenile show jumper can win in the US. it's used to recruite future olympic riders and the winner and top finishers often get invited to try out for the olympic team or junior olympic team. the Macclay tests the rider and the horse.
