Is It a lobbyist and who are they lobbying for? If we were to go back to no government funding for education would they not exist?

  1. Its the biggest national teacher's union, which is privately run.  Their funding comes from teacher and school staff membership as well as donations.  If schools lost government funding they would probably be in the streets.  Like a million teacher march to Washington or something.

  2. the NEA is a teacher union...not govt run or non-profit...

they lobby for the rights of teachers...

if govt funding did not exist, it wouldn't matter, they would keep fighting for better pay and better student to teacher ratios...

by the way, they have over 3.2 million members...
