What is the National Holiday that is going on in South Korea right now?

I work for a company which represent a Korean company, and this week I was told that the company was shut down from Monday to Thursday because of the holiday.

Please only Korean citizens, descendants or people who live or have lived in Korea, and really know what's going on.

I'm a foreigner living in Korea.  There isn't a national holiday going on now.  Some companies take a week vacation about this time of year.  I do some consulting work for a branch of Daewoo and they had the week off July 28 to August 1.  Maybe this is the case for the Korean company you are affiliated with.
