ok in the uk its the educational system that is in place from year 1- 11.

the strategy is broken up into key stages, usually testing at 6,9th  year and the gscse at the end of 11th.

it encompasses at the strands of the curriculum- i think there were 5.

note: i used to teach in england for several yeas and help bring about the NNS my first few years in pilot schools. now i teach in america and am trying to brings across some of the ideas.
