What is the ONE restaurant you think I should try in St. Louis MO next week?

My husband, daughter, small niece, and I are going to St. Louis for a few days next week, and I don't want to waste any meals at crappy restaurants while we're there. What is the ONE restaurant that is family friendly that we really need to try? And where is it located? Some idea of cuisine and menu items would be helpful as would price ranges. Thank you!

not a restraunt but if you are in St Louis you can't miss Ted Drew's the BEST custard on the planet!

I second Kat that Fitz's is a very family-friendly restaurant and it is always great to support local eateries (as opposed to chains). Ted Drewe's is great ice cream, a local tradition, and reasonably priced.

I agree with the previous poster. Ted Drewe's is a must-do in St. Louis. Their frozen custard is phenomenal.

As far as family friendly in St. Louis, I'd take them to Fitz's on Delmar Blvd (6605 Delmar Blvd. in University City -- 5 minutes from Forest Park). It's a historic bottling company where you can watch them bottle their own root beer while you eat! It's so much fun. Plus, the root beer is darn good.

They have a lot of different food there. It's mostly American cuisine, with some other fusion food.

Examples:

-The Bottle Burger (traditional hamburger with a side of fries) $7.29

-Chicken Parmesan $9.49

-Toasted Ravioli (appetizer) $6.49

And kids meals are only $3.99. You can get burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, chicken fingers, fish, spaghetti, grilled cheese, and a 6" pizza on the children's menu.

Try 1111 Mississippi, or Vin de Set (same owner).  They are excellent and you won't be disappointed.

In the Clayton area, you could try Cafe Napoli, with a charming outdoor area -- the food is wonderful.
