I have applied for my NJ Teaching Certificate online and have been patiently waiting for it. My application status always said incomplete. All along I thought that meant that they hadn't sent it to me yet. Then, I realized today it meant I needed to send more documents in. I can get a copy of my transcipt in 3 days--no problem. But, what is an Oath of Allegiance? I have applied for a substitute teacher and got fingerprints done and reached a letter with a raised blue seal.Is that the Oath of Allegiance? If not, what is it?

  1. Hi.

Follow this link. This has all the paperwork you need, including the Oath of Allegience for New Jersey substitute teachers. You will need to sign it in the presence of a notary public and they will stamp it. Most banks have several notaries and, if you have an account there, won't charge you anything.  Scroll down to find the form and print it out.

    Good luck!
