  1. Mostly pay the bills. lol but you are invloved in speaking to the trainer you must be in contact with him/her. You are the owner of the horse you pay for all the needs if anything happens you are the trainer are the 1st to be contacted. You get the largest amount of money when your horse wins. Im an owner but since im only 15 my dad pays for the bills and whenever my horses win i get a large amount but i split it with my dad. Since all the expenses come from his part, but at 18 i have to pay more if i want to contiue racing.

  2. Owners can be very involved in racing.  They can choose which trainer and which jockey to use.  If they want to be involved in the horse's training they can be.  They can help the trainer in making decisions.  They can decide which races to send the horse in.  It all depends on how involved the owner wants to be.  The owner can pay the bills and watch the horse run and do nothing else.  Or the owner can go see his horse every day and be involved in the decision making.  The owner should give some deferance to the trainer because the trainer is in a better position to know how to train the horse, but the trainer knows that he has to listen to the owner because if the trainer won't do what the owner wants, the owner can find a new trainer who will do what the owner wants.
