  1. Think Rhodri gave a good answer at the top.

A great time to sample Pacific culture if you live in Auckland (though parking can be a bit of a mission).

  2. some festival in western springs this week all the kelston kids go .

  3. It's a festival where Pacific Island communities of Auckland celebrate the cultures of their island nations and explore their connections to each other and to New Zealand.

Ten Pacific Islands (Tangata Whenua, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga, and Tuvalu) will showcase their culture in a village setting.

Each village offers an insight into cultural practices and ceremonies, traditional food, arts and crafts, music and performance. Join in the village ceremonies and activities - there will be flax weaving, lei (flower necklace) and 'ei making (circlet of flowers for the head), firedancing, fashion parades, performances and traditional cooking,

Sample something from the tasty array of food on offer. Traditional cooking methods such as the umu earth ovens are popular and a must for first time attendees.

Programme details for the villages, stages, opening night concert and other areas will be available closer to the festival day.

There are also over 300 Pacific flavoured food, craft and information stalls at the festival that shouldn't be missed.

  4. A festival of Pacific Island cultures demonstrating song, dance and food from the people of many pacific islands who live in Auckland.

The Pasifica Festival is on this weekend. Check out the web site given above.

  5. yay go NEW ZEALAND
