What is the Pat Powers "over correction" method of coaching volleyball?

As an example: When you receive a ball you need to put backspin on it by moving your arms forward on contact.  His coaching technique has the players bend at the waist and actually touch the ground after making contact with the ball.  Touching the ground is actually bending further than required so the players are "over correcting" to break their prior bad habit of not putting backspin on the ball.  He has similar techniques for spiking and approaching the ball.  I recently completed on of his volleyball clinics.  Worth every penny because it moved my game play up to A level.
