What is the People to People Sports ambasador program?

I was just invited and i have no idea what it is. It was started by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and many other presidents have participated in it.

I was invited too. I'm not going though... its way too expensive and it would probably be awkward going to italy with random people i dont know

It's expensive and they absolutely will not tell you until you attend the meeting. Others have posted here, in the past, and said Australia was about $5,500. There are no scholarships. This is a pay to play type of thing.

You are free to hold all the fund raisers you, your friends and family can manage. Nobody else is going to do it for you.

Is my personal belief that this is just another industry that prey$ on the egos athletes.  Thank about it.
