What is the Porte de Nesle?

It's an allusion in Cyrano de Bergerac. I have to find out what it is for english, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. The Porte, anyway. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

  1. It refers to a gate ("porte" means gate) that was once located on the Left (south) bank of the Seine in Paris.

    A defensive tower, built in the 13th century,  once stood across from the Palace of the Louvre (now an art museum) and a gate thru the defensive wall that was also there became known as the Porte de Nesle when Simon de Clermont, the Lord of Nesle, built a palace adjoining the structure.
