What is the Rainforest Cafe in Niagara Falls like?

I was looking at the site for Cliffton Hill and thought the Rainforest Cafe sounded really cool for when I go at the end of this month. Has anyone been there? What's it like? Is it expensive?

  1. It is over priced big time, under lit, the service is less than average, food is aweful and you get tons of kids running around at will. I have been their twice and saw a waiter spill food on customers because of the kids running around. The theme is kind of cool but thats what your paying for. Most of the restaraunts in the falls are pricey. I would be more apt to eat at Planet Hollywood myself. Hooters has awesome wings. And my son works at Falls view manor. They have good home cooked meals that are priced very good and huge portions.

  2. nice but boring

  3. Probably the same as the one in Cancun!

  4. I prefer the Keg over looking the falls instead

  5. It's a horrible chain restaurant with a bunch of plastic trees and fake animals. They are noisy, full of children and often filled with a bunch of rubes. People who like the place are easily impressed. I'm sure there are some great local restaurants in the falls area. Just ask some local when you are there.

  6. It's a place that you'd want to try at least once if you have kids to dine with. Yes, it is a little on the pricey side, but the food is pretty good and all of the restaurants at Niagara Falls can be on the pricey side.

  7. It's a national chain.  It has many large, animated/moving animal models and is set in a "jungle."  It is loud, has waterfalls, and there is always something to look out.  My 18 month old daughter was terrified, but most kids would like it.  It is kind of expensive since there must be really high overhead.  It's like eating inside a Disney ride.

  8. Just like the one in Chicago or LA

  9. exactly like all the other rain forest cafes throughout NA

  10. rainforest is a theme restaurant. decent food at moderate prices. i have never been to niagara in the winter!!! i would love to see the ice from the falls.

  11. Its pricey..loud & the food is not that great..

  12. It's like eeeeeeeeeeeeeevery other Rainforest Cafe.  It's loud, designed to appeal to kids, and has a menu like an upscale Denny's but with twice the prices.

Honestly, your best bet is always to find a restaurant that is *not* a chain.  The Rainforest Cafe, even the one in Niagara, stands out for its tackiness.  And all chain restaurants have to prioritize sameness over quality.

I would stay away.  Look for places in the B&B's.  They'll have a lot more interest and "cool" factor.

  13. its really fun.

there are animals everywhere (not disgusting) they like swoop down and you, like i said really fun. i didn't pay for it so cant help you there

  14. It's pretty fun actually. The food is standard and the prices are a little on the high side.

  15. I've never been to the one in Niagra Falls (or to Niagra Falls in general, for that matter), but I've been to the one in Houston.  The atmosphere is nice and fun, but the food is nothing special and horribly overpriced.  Not quite worth it.
