it depends who you sell it to and what they are willing to pay. dealers usually don't pay nearly what it is worth, because they just want to turn around and sell it to make a profit.  selling it outright to someone who wants it is your best bet. you can also try the on-line gun auctions.

it is much like a used car...there's a "trade in value", "appraised value" for insurance purposes.  The "actual" value is only what someone is willing to give you in CASH!  this depends on condition of item, availability, and how badly they want it.  I've seen fools pay $800.00 for guns that were only worth $300.00, just because they had too much pridse to lose the auction bid to someone else, even though there were dozens of the same exact model in great condition for less money on the same auction site!
