A guy I'm dating just informed me he was arrested six years ago on drug charges and he has an warrant for his arrest. And I found out what he was charged with.

  1. In general there is no statute of limitations on warrants.


  2. If he was actually arrested, and then released on bond, he will also be charged with Failure To Appear.  FTA is a felony with no statute of limitations.

    If he is simply wanted on those charges, and never arrested, there is a 7 year statute of limitations.

Doesn't matter.  The statute of limitations governs the time in which to nitiate or start the action by filing the criminal complaint.  If he has a warrant, then the action was started long ago.  If there were some right at stake, it would be the right to a speedy trial.  The right to a speedy trial is tolled whenever the defendant is a fugitive.  That is, there is no legal advantage to be gained by hiding after being arrested.
