What is the U.S. doing to "go green"?

There are plenty of fools who will go green in the US, which is very amusing. Most of the people when asked what it is that drives them to go green, really have no idea.

I like the color. Personally, it makes me smile.

The people are trying out of necessity while their government continues to do nothing but cater to big business with their comrades in Communist China!

The Bush Administration is doing more to hurt the environment than to help it or they basically ignore it. However there are a bunch of private organizations that are helping out to "go green."

There is also the idea of "green buildings" going around which are basically offices and work places that are energy efficient.
