    In general terms, a pound sterling has been trading for just under $2 US recently, but as I mentioned, this changes constantly and quickly.

    One other thought for you:  You can also join any foreign exchange brokerage house via their "FREE DEMO" programs, and you can see from second to second what the values of many different currencies are.  I went through www.gftforex.com to get mine, but there are also many other good ones out there.
