  1. The UK is a kingdom, funnily enough. To be more precise, it's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

England, Wales and Scotland comprise Great Britain, and, together with Northern Ireland, they comprise the United Kingdom. They are basically countries in a country.

  2. Um...It's kind of in the name.....It's a Kingdom. But it's classed as a country. It's just a contry with countries within it. Think of it like a large business....like Wal*mart or something. It's still a company in it's own right but then loads of companies are within it..Such as ASDA which is it's own company, which then has George within that, which is it's own company.

  3. name of the island - imho

  4. I would say that the UK is the same as the USA for America.

  5. UK is a country, Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland are principalities. Although, i hate to admit it being welsh, but Wales and England legally are one place as england took over us, but wales are fighting back, and are nearly separate

A kingdom is a country ruled by a monarchy, like britain. United Kingdom is strange in the fact we don't have a "country name" like swedon is the Kingdom of Swedon.

The UK includes all for principalities where as Great Britain only includes the 3 principalities of the "main" island.

  6. The UK is a country which includes three countries: England, Scotland and Northern Ireland; and one principality: Wales.

While it may be bizarre to have a country including another country, the English invented the language, so they can do whatever they like with it.

  7. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the official name of the UK and it is a country.

  8. I believe it's a commonwealth.

  9. Northern ireland is counted as being in the united kingdom.
