I'm considering a move to Ireland so I'm browsing job offerings to get an idea of what to expect but I'm lost on these three silly words. Thanks in advance.

  1. Maybe you call it a college degree.

We have the same system as Britain so this site will explain

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-class...

  2. Yes, first level more commonly called 'Primary School' or American equivalent is 'Elementary school'.

2nd level commonly referred to as 'Secondary school' or American equivalent is 'High School'.

    3rd level refers to College.

A University degree (i.e. Bachelor's degree) is a Third level degree.

There is no real equivalent to an Associate degree, but close would be a diploma received from a Third level institution but doesn' rise to the level of degree.

  3. A third level degree is a bachelor's degree , Like a BA or BSc.

Anything which is at undergraduate level.

No it's the other way around.

Second level education is secondary school or high school.

Third Level = BSc, BA etc

After that is post graduate , Masters and Doctorate

And Primary School I presume is first level but I've never heard it refered to as this.
