What is the USA's policy as it relates to sovereign nations?

Our country is supposed to be humble and compationate but defensive. With the past administrations for 16 years, it has been showing compassion by giving it's citizens money to ther countries and being on the offensive to those who don't want to cooperate with the large corporations.

It appears that the people who have answered so far are a part of the moronic "blame AmeriKKKa first" crowd.  A simple minded people with a profound faith in just how evil thier own country is.  Or if they aren't US citizens, how justified the USA was in helping their country, yet somehow remains the source of all evil in the world.

Like all nations, the USA's policies are designed to promote the health and welfare of the USA first. This is a right and proper attitude to take and one that EVERY nation on the planet both past and present has taken with varying degrees of success.

If the US sees another nation as soverign, (i.e. able to legitimately rule itself) and it isn't actively working aginst US interests, it is left alone to seek its fortune as it wll.  However, any nation that plots against us, attacks us, or aids people who do are at risk.  An entirely appropriate attitude to take.

Iraq was a sovereign nation.

I guess it`s only ok to attack a Sovereign Nation if the U.S. is the attacker.  Some other country better not do it though or the U.S. will condemn it.

U.S.A. policy since 1913, as it relates to sovereign nations is Hypocrisy.

The policy is to ask anyone in the street of the said sovereignty if they or anyone they know is related to the sovereign, and "do you know the way to Scotchland?" in a very loud voice.

Well isn't that very generous and righteous of your nation, policing the world of its own accord in the most abhorant and corrupt way in the pursuit of black gold?. You're forgetting one little thing, we all existed long before your derivative immigrant colony and we'll exist long after.
