What is the USB port on a DirecTV HD DVR+ for?

I think the question says it all. What are these USB ports on the backs of DVRs for? Can you somehow transfer saved programs from the DVR to a computer? If not, what are they for?

  1. I think you can transfer saved programs to your computer. but you'll need a tv tuner/capture card on your pC. google it and you'll get some great advice on the matter. Don't take my word for it though. It could be encrypted/protected on the DVR.

There is No official use for the USB port at this time according to DirecTv but there are plans for future uses, but unofficially like the last person said you can use it to transfer programs to and from your computer you can also hook your digital camera to it and it will play a slide show but like I said none of these are officially supported by DirecTv so just experiment with it
