  1. i guess if you have a TV Tuner for the computer and you want to watch TV on it, it can be used for that

    but if the receiver is a DVR, than it can be used to connect an external hard drive to store your recorded programs.


  2. its there so you can connect to the internet with a router. there are on line features available and it can be used as a phone line substitute to save $5.00 a month
