I see this when I read books. I have also heard antique appraisers refer to items from this era. School me please.

The Victorian Era covers the period in which Queen Victoria was monarch of Britain and it's Empire. The dates are 1837 - 1901. Although, strangely, the US also refers to this time period in the same way even in relation to it's own country.
