What is the Wharton school's acceptance rate for early and regular decision?

& how much harder is it to get into Wharton than into the school of Arts & Sciences?

  1. Wharton undergrad gets about 5500 applications each year and accepts about 500 students.  The university got 22,545 applications last year and accepted 3,628 students.

    These numbers imply that the university accepts a little over 16% of its applicants and Wharton accepts about 9%.  This means that the non-Wharton schools accept about 18.35% of the applicants.

    Since the College (as the call the School or A&S) is the easiest school to get into, it probably accepts about 20% of its applicants.

    So -- it is twice as difficult to get into Wharton as The College.  

    If you think you can get into Wharton -- apply.  It is a great program.  If you think you can get into the College, but not Wharton -- think about majoring in Economics and taking a few electives at Wharton.
