I watched X2 on TV the other day and found it interesting but confusing since I haven't seen the first one. I'm now watching the 3th movie. Could someone give me a recap on Xmen 1? Thanks!

  1. mutants... http://watch-movies.net/movies/x-men/

here is the link so you can watch it instead of buying it... and yeah

  2. All the movies are about fictional characters who have a genetic mutation that triggers in them specific powers when they reach teen age.

In the first X Men movie there are two grouops of mutants:

    * X Men: Proffessors / students lead by Proffessor Charles Xavier who aim to find a way for mutants and humans to live togheter in peace.

    * Magneto's Brotherhood: Lead by Magneto who sees humans as the enemies of mutants and his solution is war agaisnt them (like in X3).

An US Senator is pushing a law to registrate all mutants and Magneto see it as the first step to send mutant to Concentration camp like Hitler did to jews in WWII (Magneto was a jew who was sent to those camps).  He fabricates a machine that emits a radiation that will convert humans certain area around it in mutants and plans to use it during a convention of world leaders discussing the mutant issues.  But to power it he has to be connected to the machine, which drain the life from it.  As a solution he tries to kidnap Rogue who is a mutant gril that if touches a mutant adquires the powers of the mutant.  Magneto plans to use Rogue as a battery for the machine instead of himself, that way is rogue the one that dies instead of him.

Wolverine (Hugh Hackman) was with rogue the two times Magneto minions try to kidnap rogue so the XMen think wolferine was the target of Magneto.  The first time he is knocked out and is carried to the Xavier's school for treatment.  There he meets Jean Grey (the red haired mutant) and he tries to woo her, but she is girlfriend of Cyclops (the guy with the sunglasses to control the laser rays emerging from his eyes).  Jean Grey apparently dies to save them all at the end of X2, but is shown alive at the start of X3.

  3. the whole movie series is based on a comic book series. This is where a group of mutants with strange and very powerful  'gifts' are seen by society as a threat to normal  people. A school for these is set up to help them overcome the problems they face in dealing with  normal humanity. the special powers they employ are used  under professor Xavier's guidance for good and  oppose the evil mutants whom range  among the normal living population causing mayhem etc.

for a better  or more concise  explanation you need to look for a comic 'anorak' whom can give you lot's more details and corrections.
