Absolute location refers to the latitude and longitude of a place, i.e. 50 degrees north, 165 degrees west.  Any world map should have latitudes and longitudes in the margins.  Relative location just means that you're describing Japan's location in relation to somewhere else, like "south of Russia" or "east of China."
