I am pretty sure the Gold (Silver and Bronze also) medal isn't all gold, so what other materials are used in its make up, or how is it made?

  1. The term "gold" refers to colour, not metallic content (as the medals may contain as little as 6 grams of gold).

  2. For the gold no.  It like the Silver has to be 94% pure silver. The gold gets the 6% gold added to it to give the Gold color.  The Bronze is bronze(that is a cheap alloy).

  3. The medals are made of mostly pure silver...

The gold medal is just silver plated with a thin layer of gold, while the Bronze Medal is plated in Bronze.

Also, this year's Olympic medals include Jade, which is sealed into the medal and can be seen on the reverse side of the medal...
