I am considering purchasing a Suncast Extra Large Storage Shed, model number GS9000. However, I keep finding conflicting information about the actual external height of the

Suncast's website lists the external height as 6'11" but says the dimensions given may vary from the actual product.

Lowes lists the external height as 6'7-1/2"

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=257183-50741-GS9000&detail=&lpage=none

and Amazon.Com finally list the product as approximately 7'0"

Does anyone happen to know what the legitimate external height of this particular shed is? I only have 6'8" max to work with, hence its important for me to know. Thank you.

  1. I will guess...Lowe's dimension is the right one.  In looking at Suncast's site, there is no way there is 9" difference between the interior and exterior height; however you'd think they'd have it right, since they manufacture the unit.  I bet Lowe's has one on display.  6'-71'2" seems pretty precise, though.  I was most intrigued by the price differences.  It does pay to shop around!  By the way, if you only have 6'-8" and this thing is 6'-71/2", I assume you're either tucking it under a low roof or taking it through a door.  In the first case, make sure it's fully assembled before sliding it into the opening.  If you're taking it thru a doorway, remember that a 6'8" door frame is only 6'-7-1/2" max. clear opening.  You would have to finish the roof after getting it thru the door.
