  1. able to use the phone when the power goes out (if a landline, if VoIP you will need back up power of your modem/router and phone device.)

less interference, back ground noise, and static

more secure, someone can not use a radio scanner to listen in and record your telephone conversations, obtaining any banking or credit card info that you deal with over the phone (even those touch tones can be easily determined what numbers you pressed)

not having to worry about the battery dying.

able to test the line from the NID if/when there is a trouble on the line

  2. I could name heaps on why corded is not as good, but i only have afew on why corded are better:

    You can't loose corded phones

There is less static on a corded phone

And the kids can not take off with the corded phone!

  3. The battery won't die and when the electricity goes out, you still have use of a phone.

  4. no interference from other cordless devices and the corded phone will work when you have no power.

  5. its always good to have a corded phone around the house, in case the power goes out!!
