  1. I don't think there is a legal age.

  2. I'm a p*****n and i do it but not for a long long time

  3. 14 and up i think

  4. I had this same question many years ago, but in a different state. I called around and ask agencies, and they said there is no 'exact' age.

I'd say no younger than 12, if your child is mature and level-headed. Also, depends on if it's for an hour after school until you get home, or if it's while you're running to the store, or if it's at night.

I would never leave a child home alone at night. Not until they are a teen, and they were comfortable.

    Good luck!

  5. I hope this link below is something you can open.

It's an article from the San Francisco Chronicle.  It says California has no written age.  However, if something were to happen you could be in big trouble.  In Michigan, I believe you need to be 12 or 13.  And I think that's really for just a few hours or so.  Not a weekend away or anything.

  6. I wouldn't let a kid stay home alone in Cali.....way to much crime...but that is my opinion

  7. If it's for you, make sure your child knows how to handle emergencies.

Call CPS they can tell you.

Back in my grandmother's day, children worked when they were 6. Children can handle more than we know. Many children were raised as "latch key kids." As long as they were able to unlock the door, they were old enough.

In my day we were left at home as soon as my parents were sure we wouldn't kill each other, as were all the other kids I knew.

    Kids rise to the occassion.

I know that I started babysitting when I was eleven.

  8. A child can be left home alone for not longer than two hours at the age of nine.  If you are asking about all day you will need to contact cps because it is against the law in California to leave a child of nine home alone all day.  That will wind up with you being charged with child neglect and your child being placed into foster care.

  9. personally, i don't care what state i'm in, i wouldn't leave my child at home alone until they are at least in their teens

  10. my moms boss has a beach house on newport beach, california, and when we visit ( me,12, my brother,8, and sometimes my bff,12) she leaves us home alone for about 2 hours at a time. the thing is theres a police/lifegaurd station not even a block over so no one could get away with anything. it also depends on how mature the kid is.
