  1. Kindergarten starts at 4 but I don't believe it is compulsary...

Pre-school starts at 5 (as long as they turn 5 before June 31st that year, or they have to wait for the following year to start like my son does...he turns 4 on July 8 so he has to wait for next year.....) Pre-school is not full time & will differ between schools...then they start Primary School at 6 years old which is Mon-Fri......

  2. You are required to register your child for school at the age of 5 or 6.

Now, if you want to register your child at the age of 3, some cities do allow that if they have a "headstart" or "early education center". You are not required to take your kid to school at this age, but once you register your child, you have to go by the schools policy of attendance. You can not just drop your child out of school once you register him/her at this age. This goes for public schools.

  3. You will probably have to look into pre school. Usually you have to pay for it but here in Michigan we have a school that has lots of options for free preschool. You could call your local school board and find out if there are any in your area. I highly recommend preschool for your three year old.

  4. it depends on what kind of program the school dictrict offers. Pre School can run from 3 yrs and up

call your local school, they will be able to give you all the answers you need

  5. most require four years of age for Pre-k but if you have one in your area, he or she can go to a head start school at this age.

  6. the age is 5 when they are 4 or 5 they have to go to kinder

  7. Typically September 1st is the cut off day for birthdays.  If your son turns 4 by that date he may be eligible for pre-kindergarten.  In my district a child can only attend public kindergarten if they are bilingual, ESL, or low SES (poverty).

  8. You are actually asking two questions, so I will try to answer both of them.  :)

Legally, no start requires that children attend school.  They require that children receive an education, but that can be done outside a classroom setting...for example, by homeschooling.

As to your second question, no, public schools will not accept a three year old into kindergarten.  Some states do have publicly funded preschools, however.

  9. you arent LEGALLY required to send your child to school until age 6.  most  parent though start at the age of 3.  My son started in HEADSTART at the age of 3 and went for 2 yrs.  he was VERY well prepared for kindergarten when he left.

  10. Depends:

    In England-

    2-5yr old=preschool

    3-5yrs=Nursery

Term children will turn 5=Reception Year at Primary School.

3 is WAY to young for formal learning-their brains havent reached the development level yet where they are able to take in the information no matterhow hard its thrown at them! Formal education too young only damages self-esteem and makes children dislike school further!
