Right now I'm 17 and a Junior (11) in High School. I'm going to be 18 and I'm still going to be a Junior. So I wanted to be Home Schooled but since I'm going to turn 18 would they still allow me to be Home Schooled anyways?

  1. no! time to grow up!

  2. im 18 and I will be graduating from online school when im 19.

I know the age limit in the state of az is 21 for free home school

    good luck!

  3. I don't think there is any age limit. But laws vary from state to state so you need to ask the Dept of Education in your state

  4. 18 and then you have to go to Adult Education Classes

  5. No, there is no age limit.  There is an age minimum to dropping out, but you can continue homeschooling until you graduate, whether that's at 15 or 18, even later (for whatever reason).  You don't want to draw it out into a 3-year senior year or anything, but yes, 18 is fine.  :)

  6. There is no age limit.  Intelligent people never stop learning.

The state of California requires people between the ages of 6 and 18 to be educated, and one must be within the requirements of the education code to do so legally. http://www.homefires.com/ca_style.asp

Once you turn 18, you are no longer under the education code, so your parents will not need to file any papers or register you in any way.  It will all be up to you.

  7. You can be home schooled. I would recommend that you talk to your parents and share your desire with them. With home schooling you will work at your own pace. I have worked with Home School Students that were behind like you and they were able to complete 2 years in one. Are you ready to make that commitment? It will involve a lot of hard work and time on your part.  You could be finished with school by the time you are 19.  Again, let me encourage you to talk to your parents. If they are in agreement to home schooling you and would like some help have them e-mail me through my web site listed below.  Do not give up, you can do it.   Have a nice day.

  8. Each state has their own compulsory attendance laws, which mean that you HAVE to be receiving an education during that timeframe but it does not mean you can not receive your education before and after, as well

There is no reason why you can not be homeschooled, and continue to be homeschooled after you are 18.  One of the benefits of homeschooling is to be free of all of those silly regulations.  You will find that most homeschoolers view education as a lifestyle, not just something we do...and you never stop learning.

Yes, you can be homeschooled and I would in fact recommend it!  You will better be able to address your needs and study at your own pace.

I hope this helps, and wish you the best!

  9. I have been homeschooling my daughter since she failed 9th grade.  She is now 21 and hopefully will graduate later this year.  I have put a personal limit on her (I will teach through age 21) but it's not according to any "law" or anything.  I looked at different things, like the public school standards for "super seniors" (a nickname for seniors that are repeating) and the homeschool registration guidelines in our district that are to age 21.

  10. 105

  11. There isn't an age limit.
