  1. dude, any age is ok but it will have to be comisurate wif hrs. so if you're an old f**t wif 10hrs then you wont have a hope but if you're young and have afew hundred/thousand hrs then s'okay. capiche!

  2. Up to age sixty.

  3. 28 to 35 years.

  4. Depending on the airline, training, the range is 20-30 years to enter as a first officer.

Pres. Bush signed a law in 2007 that raised the retirement age of airline pilots to 65.

  5. Typically a major airline or a legacy carrier (NWA, Delta, United) will require you to either have an ATP (the minimum age to have an ATP--in the United States--is 23) or be 23 years old to apply.  So in theory a First Officer at Delta could be 23 years old.  However the airline usually requires the applicant to have significant experience flying as a Captain of a smaller airplane (Like an ERJ, CRJ or turboprop like a Saab 340 or Dash 8).  Which would take 18-24 months to fly 1500 hours or more as a Captain of an ERJ.  However, to be competitive in the hiring pool an applicant must have significantly more experience flying airplanes and as a Captain.  I understand that competitive flight times at United are 8000 hours total time and 4000 hours turbine PIC (pilot in command).

So to answer you question a First Officer at NWA/United/Delta could be 23 years old but is likely a bit older I would say a new hire at NWA/United/Delta  would be in the 28-32 age range.  And airline pilots, for the most part, must retire when they are 65 years old.  There are a few exceptions to that rule, if you are flying as a flight engineer you can be older than 65, is one such example.

  6. up to age 60
