  1. Most states don't have a set law for being home alone they just have guidelines/recommendations to use common sense.  Obviously you wouldn't leave a child under 10 at home but some find that their 10 year olds are mature enough to be home for a couple of hours alone.  If you have a mature child that is 10 and up it is usually ok for 1-2 hrs (like after school that sort of thing) but until age 12 they can't babysit or be responsible for another child even a sibling and of course if you leave a young child home alone and something happens the parents would be held responsible so again you use common sense.

  2. 13

  3. i would say 11

  4. Most states don't have a law on this.  I personally think each child is different because each child level of maturity differ.  I would assume that by the age 12 a young person should be able to stay home for up to 4-5hr by themselves without any harm coming to them or others.

For the most part, we can microwave mostly all food and by this age they know family, friends and emergency phone numbers by hard.  Plus, they are able to entertain themselves for short periods of time without getting into trouble.

But its all up to the kid, because many young kids at this age can still be hard headed, thief's, murders, rebellion, sexual active, irresponsible, disobedience and challenging. Only a parent would know if they can depend and trust their children to do the right thing.  I hope this help.
