  1. Depends of the airline. You will have to call that airline that the child is going to be on for the rules.

  2. Some airlines only require that the child be potty trained to fly alone.  At 12 or younger, a flight attendant is assigned to be with the child during the flight.  There is an extra cost and sometimes it is cheaper just to buy a babysitter a ticket for the flights.

  3. On Southwest Kids younger than 15 and 16 can fly alone. When your under 12 you get to sit in the front and the flight attendant walks you to the plane.

  4. It depends on the airline.  Some airlines allow as young as 15.  Check the individual airline's website and look for "unaccompanied minor."

  5. Most airlines will allow you to fly unaccompanied, but I would check with the individual carrier to be sure.  The bigger question is going to be traveling through customs and immigration without your parents.  You might want to check documentation requirements of both the United States and Canada before you travel to make sure that you're covered in that regard.  Since you're flying from Canada, my guess is that you'd be more likely to run into issues with the US policy.

At the very least it wouldn't hurt to have a notarized document from BOTH of your parents authorizing your travel.

    Safe travels!
