  1. 26 DUH!! stupid

  2. its 26 because you have to use order of operations

    Parentheses

    Exponents

    Multiplication

    Division

    Addition

    Subtraction

  3. Please excuss my dear aunt sally means :  do the ( )

exponents (you don't have any here)

                                                                     then multiply

                                                                     divide

                                                                     next add

                                                                     last subtract (none here)

  4. The brackets are just parenthesis. They are used to make it more clear since lots of nested parentheses can be hard to read.

    It runs like this:

    2+6[(8)/2] (do parens first)

    2+6[4] (do parens first)

    2+24 (do multiplication first)

    =26

  5. your mom did:

    2+6[(4+4) / 2]

    2+6[8/2]

    2+6[4]

    8[4]

    32

    your brother did:

    2+6[(4+4) / 2]

    2+6[8/2]

    2+6[4]

    2+24

    26

    brother is correct.

  6. its 26

you do whats most condensed first.

    4+4=8

    8/2=4

    4*6=24

    24+2=26
