What is the answer to this problem? i dont know which number i'm supposed to square?

d=6

my question is: which number am i supposed to square first?

am i supposed to square 6, then mulitply by 2?

or am i supposed to muliply 6 by 2, and THEN square it

  1. f(d) = 100 - 2d²/9

    if d = 6

    f(6) = 100 - 2(6)²/9

    Exponents before everything except brackets...

    2 x 6² = 2 x 36 = 72

    (2 x 6)² = 12² = 144

    so...

    f(6) = 100 - 2(6)²/9

    f(6) = 100 - 72/9

    f(6) = 100 - 8

    f(6) = 92
