  1. 'hey you'

    nobility is bs

  2. ******************

  3. hey ah

  4. hello then their first name or their surname prefixed with a title that seems appropriate. im sure they wouldnt be offended if you failed to call them sir major whatever whatever-whatever

  5. dude

  6. I think "sir" would do as it is a sign of respect.

  7. ok nobility and military rank runs something like this....

    good morning lord general flashman

i would address a man of the cloth by his clerical title, unlikely to find both

  8. Military as well as clerical titles are considered 'impermanent' and therefore mentioned first

    as in

    Major, The Lord, Lovat

    Field Marshal, Sir Thomas Blamey

    Captain, Padre Sentinant ( Bishop)

in the first title (he was at the D Day landings) you would address him as Sir when in uniform and My Lord when in civilian clothing

in the second one (he was the head of the Australian forces in WW2) he requested that he always be referred to as Sir, although technically he was Field Marshall in uniform and Sir Thomas in civilian clothing

in the third case (he was killed in New Guinea) he is always addressed as Padre. Uniform or civilian, whilst in the military after he would have been your grace

  9. Sir or Madam

  10. For most regular encounters, the peerage title takes precedence.  HRH Prince Phillip is an Admiral of the Fleet, for instance, but protocol is to call him Your Royal Highness.

When Prince Charles was on active duty, his military colleagues addressed him using Naval protocol during uniformed occasions.  Off duty, royal protocol was followed.

Now that Prince Charles is no longer on active duty, royal protocol is always followed.  Besides, he is a member of three separate services (with 3-star grade in each)...that alone would be a train wreck!
