What is the appropriate way to run? Heels first or sole flat on the ground?

  1. If it is just a light jog, then I would say heelthenfoot. But if you are competing, then either go with soles first, or just the balls of your feet.

  4. Run on your toes. You will damage your feet and legs if you run on your heels because you are putting too much pressure on one part of your foot. Run on your toes and you will run a lot faster.

  5. I believe that faster you run the less time there is for your foot to be on the ground. So if you run slower, you may heel strike and roll forward. When running faster you may land more on the forefoot. For example, a sprinter wouldn't have time to heel strike. They only land on the forefoot. I don't think there is a right or wrong way, it depends more on the person and their speed.
