  1. The first homo sapiens evolved approximately 200,000 years ago.

Homo neanderthal evolved around the same time but vanished from Earth some 30,000 years ago.

  2. Anatomically modern humans might be as old as 200,000 years, but definitely appeared by 40,000 years ago. The earliest people we think of as human ancestors go all the way back to over 2 million years ago.

  3. Without hesitation: 6000 years.

  4. Humankind in general is roughly 2 million years. First signs of civilization were about 20,000  years ago

  5. I assume you are referring to the genus: "Homo". Between 150,000 & 200,000 years. Interestingly, even prior to the earliest estimate, there is archaeological evidence of the use of fire by Australopithicenes, for some tens of thousands of years.

  6. It depends on whether you believe the bible version or the scientific ploy.
