  1. They can live up to 2 years. Nymphs come out in about 1-2 months. They molt 13 times for 6-12 months until they are an adult.

  3. There are approximately 4000-7500 species of cockroaches.  

    A few Interesting facts:

    The can hold their breath for 40 of minutes

    Some female species cockroaches mate once and are pregnant for the rest of their lives.

    They have 18 knees on 6 legs.

    But to answer your question:  about 1.5 to 2 years.  

    My favorite is the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach.  Ok ok, I am a bit of a nut when it comes to living animals maybe that is why I volunteer at two zoos.
