  1. Well there are some things I'd do before looking at the costs of opening any business.  First I'd do a feasibility study, if your not familiar with it look it up.  It will show you if the business you have planned is a viable business.  It looks at everything from currently run similar business, where they are, and how they make money.  So basically it will give you an idea if it will work in your area or if there is a better place for you to open.

Once you have that study finished (don't rush it, because your future depends on it) start looking at how many beds you want , the type.   Build in to all costs an error of 5% or more if possible, incase you have any problems it will help.  If you have a location in mind you will need to figure cost of lease, rent or buying.  Decide if you will rent space to other massage theripests or possibly a chiropractor.  If you decide to do a mobile massage (you go to your clients) will lower your overhead a lot.

You will need to factor in a contractor to create the space you want, building materials, and other incidentals.

Insurance will be another factor. it will depend on your ownership of the business (sole, or incorp)

Legal fees are a killer find a good lawyer

If you want to make a logo it should be tradmarked and that gets expensive.

It will all depend on the type of business you are interested in starting.

If your serious I would contact your local small business center they will be able to help you out and you can even get free advice from a free business consultant.  They will even help you prepare a business plan and a package to go to your bank for financing.

    Hope this helps.
