  1. Just adding to Vanities' post, those figures are quoted in Jamaican dollars. If you can import some of the equipment and supplies you can reduce your initial start up cost.

    K

  2. Figures above are not a bad estimate at all. They are a fair conservative budget.

The only other budgetary suggestion that i would make is to budget for sufficient reserve cash to support you for at least 6 to 12 months until business picks up. It is risky to assume that you will have enough customers from the first day you open. Rent and salaries (for you and your staff) are the main considerations.

If you cant find all of this, but want to start a business anyway. GO FOR IT. But just be aware of the risk you are taking and be constantly searching for contigencies.  All small businesses have to start from SOMEWHERE.

  3. $2,000 to register with the Office of the Registrar of Companies.

$30,000 a month to pay your rent, at least.

$250,000 to buy equipment to furnish your place.

$100,000 to buy products like oils etc.

$30,000 a month to pay one other person to probably clean up and keep things in order and do cashier work.

plus other miscellaneous costs like your transportation to your business site and other small works you need to do before starting up. Marketing will cost too, depending on how much you do and how you go about it. Training staff will cost or getting training for yourself.

You need around a million Jamaican dollars to get started in a semi-secure way.
