  1. It's the path of the clubhead in your backswing and forward swing.

  2. The tough thing about golf is the golf club moves in an arc (with your shoulders the center of that circle) while you want the ball to fly in a  straight line.

So to work out where that arc is at the time it hits the ball helps keep the ball from disappearing into the trees.

  3. The arc is the path ( the swing plane ) the club takes from the point of address, starting and completing the backswing; beginning the downswing through the impact zone with a full extended followthrough to the finish of the stroke.Hope that is a simple explanation.

  4. It's the arch created by the path of the clubhead.  You have a bigger arch the longer you go without cocking your wrists.  You also create a larger arch by extending your arms.  This keeps the clubhead further from your body, creating a larger "arch".  Tiger has a particularly large arch where Jim Furyk has a small one from keeping his wrists hinged through much of his swing.
