I am having my debut as an amateur and was thinking if its worth inviting my family and friends since they have plans for that day but they could postpone it to go support me.

  1. This can depend on the venue and scheduling.  In  Oz there are some amatuer only nights which get mainly just family and some friends attending, and there are pro-am nights which have 2-3 amateur bouts to start the night before the pro card.  These nights have a lot more attend due to the pro's fighting.  You will be a bit nervous on the night (normal) and it would be good for you to have some support with you.  If it's your first fight you will hopefully get on early as waiting can take nervous energy out of you too.  Good luck.

  2. Full of excitement and a great atmosphere for sports fans.

It can be Nerve wrecking for boxers. I can't help but have butterflies in my stomach right before I fight, no matter how hard I have trained.

I have a friend (who right now is a state champion in the light heavyweight division) who still gets nervous before fights, and he has been fighting in competitions for a long time

  3. It depends pretty much on the venue. The Golden Gloves Tournament is always alive with electricity.

  4. it matters where you are fighting at
