  1. Well for one, they believe that Scott wrote the book as his life story.

    He believes that money can ruin anyone if they are greedy as one example (take Gatsby for one)...


  2. To irritate, to bore and to waste peoples time! I hated that book. Seriously, one of my most unfavorite books of all time. You either love or hate that one I suppose. It is one of my closest friends favorites!

  3. I love it but some people don't get it. It's very simple and poetic, like The Glass Menagerie.

    Anyway, it's slightly autobiographical. It proves that love is blind (Nick tells  us that Gatsby is wonderful but do we believe his poetic vision?), the rich are careless and shallow, and you aren't guarenteed a friend in death- you're abandoned.
