  1. It would depend on which year you were in. In England if you're in year 6 then the average score is round about a level 4 but if your in year 9 then the average score is round about a level 6. However, I don't believe SATs are necessary as all they are, are tests set by the government to see how schools are getting on. They don't count towards anything and they will not stay with you for the rest of your life. Once they're done then that's it.

  3. The national average is 1500 with 500 for each section.

    If you want to know the average SAT score for accepted students at a certain college or university, visit www.collegeboard.com and search for your school. Or you can visit that school's website and click on admissions. Often they give the profile for incoming freshman (average GPA, SAT verbal, math and writing, class rank, etc).
