What is the average age a child can count to 100?

my son is 4 years and 11 months, and just this week started counting to 100 with no help and no mistakes. is he young to be able to count that high?

Most children pick up this skill around five years old, though it's not uncommon for some four and even a few three year olds to be able to count to 100. However, for younger children (three and four), how high they can count isn't as important as one-to-one correspondence. Often when they're counting up high, it's just memorization, and they may not have any clue what they're talking about. One-to-one correspondence means they understand that each number -each word - corresponds to one and only one object that they're counting. They demostrate this by pointing to one object as they count, for example, putting out a dozen plates and setting down one plate each time they say a number: "one (place plate), two (place plate), three (place plate)..." etc, etc. Give your almost-five-year old lots of opportunities to practice his one-to-one correspondence!

Maybe four or five, because that's when my sister learned, though it can depend on how smart your child is. Being able to count to 100 at a young age means they're smart and capable

My 3 year old son can do it in 2 different languages.

I think it's a matter of how early you expose them to it.

My son was counting to 100 and above at that age.

Once they get through the "teens" and get the pattern, it's pretty easy to do.  My daughter is 3 and starting to get it.

I am a first grade teacher in Ca. One of the state standards in first grade is to read write and count by 1's 2's 5's and 10's to 100. In Kindergarten they need to count to 30. if your child has an older sibling than they want to be as smart as they are and learn things very quick. I would say the average age to count to 100 by 1's is beween 5 and 6.
