  1. From our last intake I would say 26. However that may well change as the pensions have changed.

    When I joined you did 30 years and then can retire with a healthy pension (that we pay heavily for throughout our career before anyone starts!)

    Now when you join you retire after 30 years or at 55 years of age whichever comes last.

    So previously an 18 year old would retire at 48 and live out their days on full pension which can work out to be pretty expensive.

    Now an 18 year old will work an extra 7 years for no extra pension so there's no issue regards younger recruits costing more long-term.

    Of course if you're the best person for the job you should get in anyway. I don't want to appear cynical!


  2. If you are talking about their brain age I would guess about 2 years old.

  3. The average age of wing members is 28 (the youngest is 19 and the oldest is 39)
