you can be 13 and be in fencing man,but otherwise i have know clue

It ranges, I cant tell you the average but Keeth Smart (USA's best sabre) is 30 and Becca Ward (USA bronze medalist) is 18. Everyone else on the US team are in between.

FIE regulates that to fence in the Olympics, you must be eligible for the senior level. That means that most fencers would be eligible as young as 16. There are even Olympic fencers from countries such as Egypt who are well into their 40s and 50s.
