What is the average amount of time it takes to play a game of monopoly?

I play for blood. I have taken as long as 3 days to win, or wiped everyone out in under 2 hours.

On average though about 3 hours.

Well that game takes a really long time, if you're playing with people that have good strategies.  In my family of four, it can go on for like three or four days and we all just decide to call it quits  But then, both of my parents are obcessed with that game and have been strategizing for it since they were like..10 lol. If you look at the rules though, there's like two different ways to play that make the time span of the game shorter.  I'd check that out if you don't have some serious "Monopoly stamina."

I can say that Milton Bradley used to advertise one and a half hours. But that was before Hasbro bought them, and Parker Brothers and (Magic's) Wizards of the Coast (which bought TSR, Pokemon and others), and Avalon Hill.... this list is long and includes many hostile take overs.

Sorry, I just think it's funny that Hasbro has a "Monopoly" on the Board Gaming World.

Anyway, Milton Bradley used to say that a game of Monopoly takes an average of one and a half hours to finish, using and playing by the original rules (and I think, playing to win).
